Spring Break 2008

Well last week was Spring Break for me! Hooray! I needed a much deserved break from school. It seemed that after the second week of school, I had a test or even 2-3 test every week. Not fun! Though Im also majoring in Biology, so it's kinda expected.

Spring Break turned out so good at first, but quickly seemed to come crashing down. I started the week off by having my friends come up and we went to Albuquerque, NM. Now real quick background story- cause many are probably wondering why there. Last year Dan, Jill, Alan (Jill's younger bro), Jared, and I took a day trip up to Snowflake to the Temple to do baptisms. So much fun! Well I was talking to Dan about Spring Break because it turned out NAU and U of A had the same one, and mentioned we should do another Snowflake trip. Well that soon got upgraded to Albuquerque. The four of them drove up here, checked out my apartment and then we headed on our way to New Mexico. The Albuquerque Temple was so beautiful! We did baptisms right when we got to New Mexico, than afterwards we went to dinner at El Pinto which is world famous. Everyone needs to eat there if you go to Albuquerque. Then later that night I was up playing cards with the boys and ended up staying up till about 3:30am with Jared. I was actually then given a ring (no not engagement) that Jared made me at that time. It's pure silver with a long horn bull head on it. I love it, and the best part about it is that he made it. So to me it's really special. The next morning we got up to check out of the hotel, went to Old Town Albuquerque for a little bit and than back on the road home. New Mexico was tonz of fun, with lots of good memories and inside jokes now. Though the only bummer was it took us four and half hours to get back to Mesa from Flagstaff when it normally takes two and half. It was snowing the whole day and the roads became frozen with ice. Not fun to drive in at all- but luckily we had Heavenly Father watching over us and we got home safely.

Honestly from there Spring Break wasn't the best. I got to see some friends, but I felt completely out of place with them and then things with my family are not so hot at the moment. Then Thursday night was just a bad night. I had the chance to hang with the one person I wanted to, and it just yeah. Needless to say I came home in tears and the next couple days just being in a complete haze. I felt like this black cloud surrounded me and I had no direction. I had no direction on what to do, or sadly wanting to even do anything. Luckily before coming home late Sunday night, I was able to get a blessing from Bro. Bienz (Dan and Jared's Dad). It was a very powerful blessing, and Im so glad I asked for one. There were things in there I needed to hear, and some other things were a surprise.

Although Im back now and its been really hard still, I know that my blessing will help me. Spring Break was interesting to say at the least. Though I am very glad I have friends that will want to go on fun random road trips. I mean come on...you're going on a road trip with RT (Road Trip)...how can that not be fun?! Haha.

Here are some pictures from the trip! I hope you enjoy them!!

We're Bloggin Now...

Hey Everyone! I guess I finally caught on to the personal website/blogging age! Woohoo go me! This post actually wont be very long because I have a class in about 30 mintues. But , I wanted to give everyone an update on me!

In case you didn't know, Im currently up at NAU (Northern Arizona Unveristy) working towards my degree in Biology with an emphasis on Zooloy. It's my first semester up here, and it's been an adventure. I have now lived in snow, which I love except the ice that comes with it. I also had my very first snow day! It'll be exciting when I have kids and I can be like , "Yes, Mom actually had a snow day in Az.". Im living with four other girls an apartment right across campus- seriously like 30 steps is NAU grounds. The apartment is cute, and I have my own room...well "cave". It's like a little room but 2x smaller and the cieling is doll house effect, I can walk about 5 steps in and will hit my head on the cieling. The NAU campus is beautiful and just the right size! I also like the professors and my classes so far. My favorite being Behavior of Animals.

My family is doing pretty good. We've had rough patches lately, but Im hoping everything will get better soon. It's hard being away from home from my family (especially my dog) and friends, but I know this is where I need to be right now.

Well I need to head to class, but I'll update later about my spring break!
